3 How you doin-I’m good , how are you really it’s September is is a busy month everybody’s doing something. Yes , but that’s okay . That is okay . It’s exciting . It is , I think it’s exciting . I’m excited for this week’s final hour Sam Hauser is my co-host Sam spin on the show . A number of times he’s an incredibly interesting avid record collector and probably has the most eclectic collection I’ve ever seen . And that doesn’t just mean like I don’t know he has obscure things that aren’t you know that are that what trophies of the record collecting where I . He just has stuff . No one’s ever heard of before . He’s a huge fan of music from South America . Argentina , Brazil and were listening to just Brazilian music during this weeks show , and it’s mostly artists from the ’60s and ’70s , so he was in Brazil . Not that long ago and I was asking him you know when he was down there , if the young people in Brazil . Listen to this and he was like now . They think it’s it’s like their parents music so it’s that genre but it’s had so great to listen to and he we really , I don’t think it was on purpose , but we end up listening to a lot of samba , and I learned a lot about somber it’s fascinating . Where does he find the Brazilian records online or in Brazil . Oh yeah hole . Okay , well that’s the answer . So , then does even obviously he flies yes I talked to him about this . Okay and Jersey ship them back . Right now he puts him in a suitcase .
I know it isn’t that crazy. Yeah . And Mike , I’m talking about like a hundred records .
He did , did you , I know , and then he checks the suit go down. Does he wrap it up and I was your . I’m sure my guard but you know he packs very little because he knows that he’s going to buy a lot and then he he packs a all-in and then he was so he’s telling the story about how he was charged barely over the weight limit you know and you had to pay more money , but like I was like , are you dragging their suitcases through the airport and that’s rooms like now because it that would be too heavy . If you think about trying to move that around with you , I’m sure that makes for some interesting customs . I think our perceptions really you there for records all right here .
So Brazilian music that’ll be Saturday night 5 and 91.3 Sunday evening in 5 on K UAF sorry thank Italy thanks Carol.
GPs were particularly get it to her gentlemen cheeky cheeky due to.
And a swell time last night at the roaring ’20s party that took place on the lawn of the 18-80 6 Crescent Hotel in Eureka Springs the event last night was the kickoff for the Jazz your week weekend and it was the regular cocktails for a car’s event that happens every month in Eureka Springs this month benefiting K UAF during our fundraiser month thanks to everybody who attended thanks to Main Street. Eureka Springs for including us . And the question hotel for hosting us and all the folks that came up and talked with us last night jazz Eureka , by the way continues with more music and you can find out the entire schedule at Eureka Springs.org visitors to Bentonville will soon have the option to camp just minutes from the city’s downtown Jeremy pay a program officer for the Walton Family Foundation says part of the master plan for preserve includes camping sites . Among the 16 miles of soft surface , mountain biking and hiking trails on the 300 acre property .
It’s something that we feel is an asset that we don’t have a lot of the Northwest Arkansas particularly in close proximity to our urban core the impact here is that you will have 25 sites for him keener 10 campaign a relatively primitive , but I think there’ll also be some unique aspects of this as well. Platform type camping experience .
Page says they’re still in the planning process. As far as how the reservation in payment structure will work but the campsites will provide another option for visitors who would rather not pay for a hotel room .
Particularly with the visitors that we see in this region that come here for mountain biking or trail running or whatever happens to be. They ran the gamut of those wanting to stand to inland sea to those who want to stay at you know camping out of their RV or out of their tent or out of their hymnic for that matter . And so this will provide accessibility for a range of folks who really want to enjoy what matters Arkansas has to offer .
Also in the works for color preserve a Greenway connected to the rest of the regional network , a small cafe and eventually paid says several trail , he adds.
Some of those will be more family oriented and yogurts Pat platforms and sessions even potentially for classes in the future and really some places for contemplation and religious reflection. So there is this really this is essence of a preserve as well and that’s really important in in sort of the the concept . Development of the of the project is really preserving a lot of what was there in terms of its natural assets .
Jeremy Page says most of the 16 miles of soft surface trails on the preserve property are completed and for now. That’s all the mileage . They have in the master plan but construction on the site will continue into next year .
We really haven’t found any precedents for this project. And so , it’s been an interesting exercise in thinking through how how the amenities that we just discussed how they all interact and interplay with this this project , particularly when you’re 3 5-minute ride or 10 or 15 minute run from core of downtown Bentonville .
Page says they hope to have the majority of the projects in the master plan wrapped up by the end of 2019.
