This is the state of things from the American tobacco historic district I’m Frank Stasio Judge bread cabinet future on the US Supreme Court is in flux after an allegation of physical and sexual assault. Christine Blassie , Ford said . Kavanagh assaulted her more than 3 decades ago while they were both in high school . The Supreme Court nominee denied the allegation . Will this mean a delay in his confirmation plus this week . Donald Trump ordered the release of some FBI documents related to the special counsel’s Russia probe and the president again attacked Attorney General Jeff Sessions , saying , I don’t have an attorney general political junkie Ken Rudin is here to share his take welcome back Ken .
Thank you , Frank. I got exhausted listening to that intro , I mean that , yeah .
And I’m not done really but we had the limited because we’ve only got 12 minutes. Let’s start with the cabinet no allegations . Now interesting showdown where you have Christine Ford saying there is a lot of other testimony . The shoot . I will not testify or she has said previously , we don’t know how it’s going to end up can’t testify unless there is a full investigation and Chuck Grassley , the chair of the Judiciary Committee saying we’ve got a slot for you tomorrow at 10 if you’re there otherwise we’re going on without .
That’s a. I mean . Subs : a perfectly . I mean , basically when when when she first came forward and I should say if you keep boy reluctantly basically under a lot of pressure but when she came forward with these allegations about sexual harassment and sorry sexual misconduct directed against Judge Kavanaugh when they were teenagers several decades ago , everybody said , well maybe just get this nomination is is is is in serious jeopardy . That maybe they’re going to withdraw the nomination and of course , everybody was waiting to see what President Trump would do because present as a way of stepping on his own message stepping his own fund he’s been remarkably restrained and of course , I’m sure there’s a lot of pressure on that as well , but the fact is , is that , I mean first of all in the funny part is that the the Republican saying well , the Democrats are only doing this because they want to obstruct the nomination they’re guilty of obstructionism and all you have to do is say the name Merrick Garland to talk about who series . You know who restricts who obstruct nomination , but the fact is they’re offering they the Republican duty to controlled Judiciary Committee is offering Ms Ford Professor Ford to testify and of course , still going to have Judge Kavanaugh testify as well . And she says that people are backing her say that is completely insufficient well in .
Efficient because they only have to remember back a couple of decades to the Anita Hill Clarence Thomas hearing , and the showdown when it’s his word against mine and I am suspecting that Professor doesn’t want that situation when she believes or at least has said that there is documented testimony that would be better than just my testimony in this format.
I mean , I’m glad you rent Medford Anita Hill and Clarence Thomas. I think one major difference is that accusation accusations against sexual harassment and sexual misconduct which were almost who cooled in 1991 . I mean , the thought of ever that that ever being booed . But it was only basically it was a hit , he said . She said there was no to movement and perhaps more importantly , the Senate Judiciary Committee led by Democrat Joe Biden was all white all I’m I’m sorry . All we ask all white and all male and now .
