And we start this Friday edition of O’s aren’t a large with Michael Tilly from his office in Portsmouth Michael’s with talk business and politics to talk business and politics covers well business and politics throughout Arkansas Michael happy Friday.
Right. Sometimes , we cover politics and business but in in any order we try to get which here .
Appreciate that. Well , let’s start with business and , and what was kind of a big move that happened early in this week at Tyson Foods what what did happen .
It had big we were going to surprise you I’m who’s been on Tyson Foods in the CEO of ties and periods. A couple of years now stepped down for personal reasons was the reason faded so he is moving on . I think September 30 yeah , effective September to it into there , I think fiscal quarter . And no , I will step into that role in and what’s interesting about that cows with his wife was expected to succeed on its merits . When Mr. Smith stepped down , and that didn’t happen . Instead they went with Mr. isn’t it and came to Tyson from the hill so brains acquisition , it was more of a marketing are not more . He was a marketing that was his background , really . And that’s it . SADC many years ago . That’s kind of the 9 Tyson Persian stepped in and that’s the EU overall however to Hayes with and do a great job altogether . I know he didn’t do it . There’s a lot of folks were true I shouldn’t but pulled together they think deal you used on food . I think that’s a bigger deal . A lot of people realize they provide proteins to these fast food companies in the international markets are growing , growing market . So we brought in any sold off some non-essential this a sort of like some of the bakeries in someone with the companies really grow now it’s kind of , you know wall in recent months through tariff issues , there are a commodity quite the issues pricing issues they did a great job , but what I just 17-year veteran when passionately keen to Tyson Foods only by IBP and he’s been in the poultry business has been in beef and pork , who’s been in the international markets . Mr. White those was the business . Fighting back , so it will be , it’ll be interesting to see what he does when he doesn’t their role .
Certainly interesting times for companies that do a lot of business overseas. You mentioned tariffs and other issues . This is a tumultuous potentially tumultuous time for international dealings .
Right in and one other point with his background , it’ll be interesting you know Mr. Hayes also made some significant I think is a fair word significant management changes structural change to the company. It will be interesting to see if Mr. White goes back to what was the Tyson old school case model for its big more since the management structure in place . Mr. White who steps into a role . It’s going to be very convenient .
You mentioned the the decisions that have to be made , whether you stay old school or go new school. That’s a lot of what is being talked about today in Fort Smith at the inaugural young professionals entrepreneurs summit .
